USS Liberty – Israel’s attack on a United States naval ship

On June 8, 1967, while patrolling in international waters in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, an American surveillance ship called the USS Liberty (AGTR-5) was heinously attacked by the air and naval forces of Israel.
